Merry Christmas

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!! Im enjoying a week off of "real" responsibility and just after the new year I will begin training for my first triathlon  in August. My sister signed me up and paid my fee so Im pretty much committed ... lol. But Im excited to face this challenge head on! 


Im also going to be training for my first  Warrior Dash in May! This one I was the instigator and conned my sister into signing up with me;) Fire, barbed wire, mud, and fuzzy horn hats? Yeah .... Im in! LOL


Ive been praying for a new job, one with benefits and great pay, but more importantly one in line with the will of God for my life. Well, my boss called in for a conference a couple weeks ago and not only did I get promoted, but I got a double promotion!! First she was going to give me the supervisors position and then she said I was receiving the directors position!! So now Im the director/supervisor of my department!! I go in after the New Year to discuss my salary raise. God is good. I dont know how long I will stay in this job, but for now its a much needed boost to my resume!!

1 Cor 10:13

A lot of times during deployments I find myself saying to the Lord..."I can't handle this Lord", or "why me". You know the typical self-pitying talk. This isnt my first ride on the ferris wheel. This is my 4th, some might say a "pro" a "veteran" or something similar. 
Truth is Im just a wife and a mom. Im not a hero, a saint, Im not a "trooper". Im just a prayer warrior. I pray constantly and part of me thinks that God allows me to continue going through these separations just to keep me on my knees.
Im not always the best prayer person I can be when my husband is here and things are going well. So my goal for my spiritual life is to get this prayer part down pat before he gets home. To find a moment in the day where its all about my time with the Lord.
I mean, I get up and read the word and say a quick "bless my life" everyday. But I want to be able to really pray, not out of need for something, but just because whenever I need Him, He is there. So I want to be there with Him even when things are going great!!
1 Corinthians 10:11-13 says 
¹¹ These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come. ¹² So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! ¹³ No temptation^[c] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted^[d] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,^[e] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Tutu Dress Update

I finally finished the first of probably many tutu dresses for Sophia. I put it on her just to take pictures and now she wont take it off ... lol. I guess I shoulda known better!! Instead of the traditional flower I decided to do butterflies as the centerpiece across the bust and for the headpiece. I hope she'll always let me have my little two cents in what she wears. Even at 3 she says "no mom thats not cool", where do kids get these things from?

Blogger mom

I applied to be a Mom's Meet blogger today. Since I already voice my opinion, I figured why not be able to receive some goodies for doing it!! I was accepted into their mom ambassador program awhile back and I was chosen 3 times so far to sample different products.
The most recent ones from Annie Chun and Dr.Sears. Very cool. 

I opened the seaweed snacks right away because my curiosity wouldnt let it alone.  It was different ya'll. Not bad, just different...lol. Im gonna try the noodles and sauce tonight, Im sure Ill love those. I got tons of coupons from them also, so lemme know if you want on the discounts:)

Deployment Day

Its never easy saying goodbye to someone you love. Especially your spouse! I watch these shows like Wife Swap, or other reality shows where people are separated from there loved ones for like a couple weeks or 30 days,, and I think wow "I wish I had it that easy" ... LOL! This is our 4th deployment and not the longest but probably the hardest for sure. The first 3 tours were in Iraq and while not a safe place by any means, much more safe than Afghanistan according to my husband. I am in a state of constant worry with this deployment. I dont think a month has gone by since we moved here that  a soldier hasnt died from this base in the war there. At a pre-deployment briefing my husband's battalion was told by the general to "look around, at least 100 of you wont be coming home"!!! WTF? You cant be serious right now, thats all I could think. How could you tell someone that? 

I have live by faith right now. I have to be strong for my babies. I cried in the last few minutes after he boarded the bus, my son fought back the tears trying to be strong for his sisters and me.  I tried to make the last few days before he left the best I could, just in case he doesnt come back. But I have to walk by faith, because if I let my mind control me, Ill be a wreck for next 12 months!!

I wish I had friends here. I think thats the hardest part. I keep to myself, I dont go clubbing and stuff like that so I really dont have an outlet for socializing. I joined a meet-up group for salsa dancing though. But I havent gone to any of the meet-ups...LOL. Maybe in the next couple weeks Ill put my big girl panties on and just do it already! Whats there to lose, right?!

Custom Tutus

I LOVE the army!! Can you hear the sarcasm? My husband was supposed to leave on the 18th and now he leaves even sooner. Boo, Im so bummed to have to say goodbye in a few short days.
But anyways stress seems to jog my creative inner being. Im starting on some custom made tutu dresses (full dresses not just skirts). Ill have to post and share with you guys. I hope you give me some honest creative criticism, no worries I wear my big girl panties I can take it:)

So this is my first attempt at blogging! LOL.
Im not sure really if this is for me? Who wants to read about my life? Who cares? I mean really? 
Im gonna go for it...
I find myself reading others blogs more and more lately. Maybe I do have something meaningful to say to someone that will touch their lives. If not, I hope you can at least get a laugh or two while youre here visiting me:)
